Entrepreneurs, Startup Founders, and Mental Health

Your Mission!

As a founder or entrepreneur, you know it is a tremendous responsibility. Everything depends on you to keep your company going. You likely suspected that this would not be easy, but you never expected to be working so many hours! The stress may be getting to you, and you may be facing this alone because mentioning that you feel “burned out” would be perceived as weak, and you worry you could hurt your relationship with funders and maybe clients!

You are probably passionate about your mission, and it may be personal to you. This is not just your source of income; this is YOUR QUEST!  That is why you spend so many hours advertising, tracking customer information, and providing a quality service or product. if you weren’t passionate, you would have given up long ago, but you keep going because you care about your purpose. The dopamine of hard-earned success draws you back into the process each time. What if you could also find emotional balance and had the time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Can you imagine if being passionate did not have to come at the cost of your own well-being? Can you imagine a confidential space to discuss the practical and emotional sides of running your business?

Finding Support!

The reality is that it is sometimes hard to find somebody who gets it. If you are going to bed worried about your company, if family members and friends are complaining that you don’t have time for them, and if you feel like your business is taking control of your life instead of giving you the freedom you have always desired, then we should talk.

You are Not Alone

I know that you may be suffering in silence, and it feels like everyone else is thriving. Let’s be real for a moment, you are not alone. 72 percent of founders and entrepreneurs suffer from mental health concerns, are two times more likely to suffer from depression than the regular population, six times MORE like to have ADHD, three times more likely to have substance abuse, and 10 times more likely to have a bipolar disorder. While stigma and a fear of consequences may make it hard to speak out, your emotional health and well-being are critical for your business success, and I can help you get there.

I know what it is like to struggle balancing a business with the rest of life. Having my own diagnosis of NVLD (Nonverbal Learning Disorder) has meant that I have had to be extra sensitive and aware of the executive function demands that are inherent in being a business owner. I can help you develop some of the time management skills, prioritization, and stress management techniques to help you be successful. Reach out to continue your mission with me! I look forward to hearing from you!
